Case study: How & beauty transferred its business from SaaS service to Magento 2 platform
Who is & beauty?
The story began in 2008, when the Lumene brand was looking for an exclusive importer in Estonia, giving rise to MG Beauty . Over the years, numerous beauty enthusiasts and professionals have joined the team, bringing expertise in their products and helping customers in making informed choices.
There are already more than 20 different brands exclusively represented by & beauty in Estonia, including Lumene, Dr. Irena Eris, Lily Lolo, Cutrin, Tahe, Amika, Macadamia, Sachajuan and many others.
Project’s goal
& beauty operates in a rather competitive market. Therefore, in order to achieve a strong competitive advantage, it was important to offer customers the best online channel experience.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to do this on the platform of the existing SaaS e-store, since it lacked the necessary functionalities, making it impractical to develop them due to time and cost restraints.
The goal of the & beauty project was to create an online channel that would be the best shopping channel in its field for both B2B and B2C customers.
Solution
Multiple platform options were considered for the client, with the project further complicated by the transition to new business software. After assessing needs, the Magento 2 platform was proposed as a solution.
Magento 2 was integrated with Directo economic software for automatic information exchange.
The shopping experience is also very important for a B2B customer.
The shopping experience was also crucial for B2B customers, mainly beauty professionals who often used mobile devices in salons. They needed a good overview of what was on offer, as well as the ability to place an order quickly and conveniently.
