Acty and in-house peer recognition system Bonusly
Endy came up with the idea of how team members could highlight each other within the company and how to create a  feedback culture. For this, Acty introduced a tool called Bonusly. With the help of this tool, colleagues can highlight each other within the company and create a feedback culture in the company, so to speak.
Such a motivational system has a very positive effect within the team and gives the employee even more motivation to perform their duties.
How does Bonusly work?
The Bonusly system is used monthly. It works today in a way that each Acty employee has a specific value of virtual coins, or Acty coin, which can be used to recognize the good work of your team member. An employee who has excelled and received coins as a reward from others can redeem them for a prize or gift card at the end of the month. It is also possible to convert the collected amount into euros and withdraw the corresponding amount in cash or donate it to charity. One of the advantages of Bonusly is that it integrates with Slack, making it more convenient to use.
The Bonusly system was introduced because it is one of the motivation options that Acty uses internally. You don’t have to do anything extra to recognize each other, it’s enough to do your daily work, but do it so well that others notice too. Endy here excitedly describes one example: “For example, I organized summer days and different teams “threw” me coins – “Well done, Endy, it was very cool”. Organizing summer days is one of my job duties, but it is also very nice to receive recognition and notice from colleagues.”
Does such a motivation system work?
There was a definite “yes” to this question. The system has been in use at Acty for a little over half a year and has been well received by the employees. Quite a few colleagues have accumulated a nice amount and have not yet withdrawn. There are also those who take out the bonus more often, and buy a reward they like.
Using Bonusly also contributes to the fulfillment of the company’s mission, which is to reduce so-called “dull work, release human creativity and cultivate tolerance and care for each other through the motivation system.
