EELK Report Management Information System
EELK story
Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church is a Lutheran church operating in Estonia and the Estonian-speaking diaspora. EELK has 12 presbyteries, 169 congregations and 228 clergy in Estonia. EELK is headed by Archbishop Urmas Viilma, who was ordained on February 2, 2015.
EELK church government or consistory is formed by the archbishop, bishops, chancellor and up to four assessors. The highest legislative body of the EELK is the EELK Church Council, which includes 66 clergy and lay members. The church assembly is elected for four years and is convened by the archbishop at least twice a year.
Objective of the project
EELK turned to Acty with the challenge of simplifying the reporting system between parishes and the church, which has been functioning thus far. The desire was to create a simplified solution that would reduce the amount of work to date. Entering and consolidating reports was a time-consuming procedure.
Challenge
The main challenge was to create a scalable architecture for the reporting system, and find ways to consolidate previous data into the new system.
Solution and development
As a solution, a report management information system was created, where administrators can preview the structure of reports, and then congregations and deans can submit reports electronically in structured forms. In the updated system, it is possible to prepare questionnaires and the answers given by various organizations are reflected in the statistics. In addition, several different functionalities were created that have simplified work processes.
As a result of the created solution, reporting was significantly accelerated and the reporting period was shortened.
